It has been encouraging to pause each week and recognize the progress, problem-solving, teamwork, and momentum happening across Harmony. This week’s wins reflect progress in two important areas: continuing to grow Harmony’s presence in the marketplace and improving the quality and consistency of our products.
Growing Across the Country
Harmony products are now available in 11 states. This is an exciting milestone that reflects steady growth and the sales team’s continued work introducing Harmony to new markets.
Sales Win
This week, the sales team added four new accounts:
- Central Oregon Locavore in Bend, Oregon
- Great Basin Community Food Co-op in Reno, Nevada
- The KIVA Grocery in Eugene, Oregon
- EZ Orchards in Salem, Oregon
Hilltop Red Apple will also begin ordering Harmony jerky through Crown Pacific. Crown Pacific and Green Coast Market both placed reorders, providing another encouraging sign that awareness and demand for the Harmony brand are continuing to grow.
The team has also scheduled upcoming product demonstrations with Roth’s, Metropolitan Market, Harbor Greens, Tacoma Boys, and Orcas Island Market. These demonstrations give us an opportunity to strengthen relationships with our retail partners, connect directly with customers, and share more about Harmony and why we do what we do.
Production Win
The production team identified an important issue with the packet being used inside our jerky packaging. The packet was a desiccant designed to absorb moisture rather than an oxygen absorber. This may have contributed to the jerky becoming drier over time while leaving residual oxygen in the package that could support mold growth.
The team is moving forward with the intended oxygen-absorbing packet, which is designed to address oxygen that may remain after the nitrogen-flushing process. This is an important corrective step, and the team will continue monitoring the product to confirm that the change improves shelf stability while maintaining the quality and texture of the jerky.
